The story is based on the scientific discovery that  frogs are able to feel an earthquake way before humans. Moreover, there have been observations in China, for instance, when frogs came dancing across the bridge in a public place and then disappeared shortly followed by a devastating earthquake. Were frogs trying to alert humans?

Events take place in San Francisco California. Teddy is a loving, adventurous and daring frog and a great buddy who has a gift of being able to feel an Earthquake before it comes. Only Teddy’s problem is that he and his friends could never communicate and alert humans about an upcoming disaster. After seeing another devastating earthquake taking place in the North Bay, Teddy felt that it was imperative to warn people as they are a part of nature. Teddy's frog community lives at the Golden Gate Park pond behind the Rose Garden.  However, due to their belief about human's desire to consume and hurt frogs, the frog community was reluctant to help Teddy in his quest. Despite of that, Teddy convinces two of his best friends girl frog Jesse who is sweet but tough and Big D a chatty, funny and fat frog, to sneak into a human home and learn a little literacy just enough to be able to know what the words of an Earthquake Alert look like. He then devises a plan, that once they know what to say to humans, they will be able to spell the words by a dance choreography, since they can’t talk to people. Jesse happened to be a phenomenal dancer and a coach with a dream of becoming the best frog coach in the frog's underground.

Teddy’s quest is full of challenges and obstacles from the first minute he enters a human’s home. A typical San Francisco family: the father Mike a second generation Russian, his wife Tina an attractive Asian woman, their young and spoiled kids John and Sasha, and a scary dog Moty who is all trouble. They are not ready for their uninvited frog guests. Teddy risks his life and the life of his friends to get what he wants. He doesn’t find it in the house. Inevitably Teddy and Jesse end up riding to a School with John in his backpack while Big D gets trapped in the cookie plate back at the house. In school they get into more trouble with a French substitute teacher. At last, after being chased by students and teachers Teddy learns in the class that words ”GET UNDER THE DESK’ are the first alert for humans trapped in the buildings during the earthquake. They barely escape the chase.

When Teddy and Jesse get back to the Frog community Teddy tells Jesse that Big D was trapped in the human’s home, which really upsets Jesse, because Teddy didn’t tell her all along about Big D, she feels that Teddy is over his head with the mission trying to save humans and in the process forgets his best friends. She abandons the mission, and Teddy is confronted and discouraged. Only this time he is being taken to the REALM world of THE MIGHTY FROG who weaves in and out of the story as a powerful, mystical mentor to Teddy and the frog community. He re-ignites Teddy’s desire to make the world a better place to live. Despite of losing both of his friends he ends up talking the frog community into his plan of action. And with help of his returned friends and additional help of humans like Bob the research analyst and The Mayor of San Francisco, Teddy and the crew bring on a leapfrog dance that spells out words ” GET UNDER THE DESK“ just in time before a serious earthquake hits the City of San Francisco.
